New Specialized Animation Controls for 2.121

Dear Seamless Friends :)

Seamless3d 2.121 is available for download at:

http://www.seamless3d.com/download

This version of Seamless completes my second priority for the year by adding the long awaited specialized controls for the animation interface. The Anim control panel now has a time-line and a slider which makes it much more intuitive. It also has your self explanatory play, pause and loop buttons too :P

To see how straight forward and simple it is to use the new "anim bar" see the new tutorial:

Beeline to Animation

http://www.seamless3d.com/tut/beeline_anim

Because Avatar Studio is one of the easiest programs to animate with and because Seamless's animation interface is much influenced by this simplicity, it should not only be easy for anyone who can animate with avatar studio to be able to animate with seamless but it should also make seamless one of the easiest programs to animate with too. See:

Relating to Avatar Studio's Animation Interface

http://www.seamless3d.com/tut/av_studio

I have updated the demos, build an av and worm animation to use the new anim bar.

I have added the Anim node to the Seamless3d node index for further documentation:

http://www.seamless3d.com/tut/node/anim.html

Happy Animating :P

Hi thyme :D

I downloaded the seamless3d source coz i just couldn't wait till i got home to try this fantastic new animation interface
I have got it working on my laptop :D but found i had to make some very minor changes to your source:

1. My assembler (bundled with vc2005) needs a small change to do_operation.asm to assemble; setcc [mem8] needs a size specifier
sete byte ptr [esi]
setne byte ptr [esi]

2. Something seems to have gone missing from the resource files. I think it's the seamless3d.rc file.

Wooooooo Hoooooo :D Now I'm animating a worm at work

Wonderful work(art  ) thyme,

bumpy

Hi Alain, Bumpy and Lilly :) sorry for the delay in replying, I have been trying to get back to your posts for days now! Very sorry I promise I will reply soon as I can but want to let you know all of your posts are much apreciated :D

I will just answer Lilly's question now so that she can move ahead :)

first let me say Lilly its great to see you have mastered position animation all by your self!!! :P

To be able to colour individual triangles you must convert the part that owns the triangle to a blue part first.
(blue bone I mean for the part's icon, I do not mean the triangles will be blue)

To convert a white part to a blue part:

Right click on the white part and select "convert"
then you see the part turns into a blue part

then your will see the colour buttons Image in the tool bar and they will work same as how you used the old version of seamless once but seamless is now better then before for this type of editing (immediate editing).

see Coloring Vertices in the Immediate Commands tutorial.

Seamless now has both the old paste colour vertex command Image and paste colour triangle Image command :)

remeber to copy the vertex Image before pasting the colour in.

and please try to avoid scaling blue parts if you can (scale them when they are white parts is best for avoiding problems).

Hello Alain
merci beaucoup
j'aimerais tant voir d'autres artistes s'exprimer
avec Seamless, je fais pour cela toute la publicité que je peux
à Cybertown...
amitié

hello dear freinds :)

Matthieu has already translated the beeline animation demo to French!

Cap sur l'Animation

I think this is the best intro tutorial I have written yet because it gets right into the exciting stuff very fast (animation) and one even learns how to add a Cone and a Cylinder at the same time, so I am really happy this has been translated to French :P

Matthieu has also translated the Relating to Avatar Studio's Animation Interface tutorial too:

Comparaison des interfaces de Seamless3d et d'Avatar Studio

Things are looking up for Seamless :D let me wave my flag hehehe
